What is Community Solar?

Community Solar is a program that allows utility customers to own solar panels located not on the property which contains their utility meter, but in a remote location.

Often, shared solar projects are larger in nature. In fact, there must be at least 10 total collective members of ownership in order for the project to become eligible for incentives and interconnection with the utility grid.

Homeowners, businesses, non-profits, and more can now band together and reap the benefits of solar through New York State’s new Community Solar program.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote the Albany Solar Farm initiative for the preservation of Historic Homes and Landscape.

And to support the goals of the City of Albany’s sustainability Advisory Committee (SAC) to reduce the carbon Footprint.
